Candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with 7 to 12 years of backend engineering experience, with at least 2 to 3 years in a lead/ mentorship role. (equivalent problem-solving skills on platforms like LeetCode/ HackerRank may substitute).
Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and distributed system design.
Expertise in Java, Java EE/J2EE, and Spring Boot.
Hands-on experience with Hibernate, Java NIO, and microservices architecture.
Strong debugging and performance-tuning skills (memory leaks, GC policies, thread starvation, profiling).
Exposure to Kafka and ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana).
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) is a plus.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to act as a player-coach (individual contributor + team lead).
Preferred Skills
Experience in digital advertising/ AdTech ecosystems (RTB, SSPs, DSPs, programmatic advertising).
Familiarity with OpenRTB protocol and campaign delivery workflows.
Knowledge of server-side scripting and performance profiling tools.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design, development, and optimization of backend services for RTB and AdTech platforms.
Architect and implement integrations with global SSPs/ DSPs using OpenRTB and other industry protocols.
Conduct code reviews, design reviews, and enforce best practices across the engineering team.
Monitor and optimize system performance (latency, throughput, GC tuning, memory management).
Troubleshoot complex issues (heap/ thread dumps, performance bottlenecks, memory leaks).
Work with large-scale datasets to identify optimization opportunities and improve efficiency.
Collaborate with product, data, and operations teams to support campaign delivery and business needs.
Mentor and coach junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and knowledge sharing.
Drive continuous improvements in scalability, reliability, and system design.
