As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Employee Experience Technology organization, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm s business objectives.
Job Responsibilities
Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
Build and maintain back-end services and APIs using Java and frameworks such as Spring or Hibernate.
Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to ensure the team is using the best tools and techniques.
Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
Experience working as a professional UI developer with Bachelor s degree in computer science or information technology
Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
Full Stack Development primarily in Java, Springboot, Hibernate on cloud, RESTFul API and Microservices development
Practical cloud native experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Experience working in Databases and ability to write sql queries.
Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle, understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
Familiarity with front-end technologies – Reactjs
Familiarity with working in event driven environments, messaging platforms, modern front-end technologies
Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
