As a Senior QA Engineer, you will be a key contributor to the quality and reliability of our applications. You will design, develop, and execute both manual and automated test scripts, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure robust, scalable, and high-performing products. You will also mentor junior engineers, champion best practices, and help drive continuous improvement in our QA processes.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute functional, regression and automation testing, identifying opportunities for automation and developing robust scripts in Java using Selenium and looking for new tools and improvement areas using AI.
- Perform exploratory, smoke, functional, regression, and acceptance testing manually to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Able to do integration, database testing to support E2E validation across systems
- Design, build, and maintain scalable and effective test automation solutions that meet evolving business and technical requirements.
- Design, develop, and execute comprehensive manual and automated test cases to validate application functionality, usability, and performance.
- Prepare and review detailed test plans, test cases, and test data for manual testing, ensuring all business requirements are covered.
- Collaborate with developers and product managers to clarify requirements and ensure effective manual test coverage.
- Document and report defects found during manual testing, working closely with the development team for resolution.
- Automate and execute test cases using industry-standard tools and frameworks
- Prepare and review test plans, test cases, and test data, ensuring comprehensive coverage and alignment with project requirements.
- Collaborate with developers, product owners, and BA to understand acceptance criteria, shift-left on quality, and ensure early defect detection.
- Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, contributing to sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Document and track defects using modern defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira,AIO), ensuring thorough investigation and resolution.
- Prepare and analyze test metrics, communicating results, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Mentor and guide junior QA engineers, promoting knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the team.
- Stay updated on new testing tools, techniques, and industry trends, and advocate for their adoption where beneficial.
- Have good experience in AI to identify areas and implement AI in existing system
Required Skills:
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 4-8 years of hands-on software testing experience, with a strong focus on quality assurance.
- Strong experience in designing and executing manual test cases based on requirements and user stories.
- Ability to identify and document clear, reproducible defects found during manual testing.
- Minimum 1-3 years of automated testing experience using Selenium with Java
- Proven ability to translate requirements into comprehensive manual and automated test cases.
- Experience with integrating and E2E testing with database knowledge.
- Proficiency with test management, automation, and defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail).
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge on AI tools
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with cloud-based testing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, BrowserStack, Sauce Labs).
- Familiarity with performance/load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Gatling).
- Experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, REST Assured).
- Experience with version control systems (Git).
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience mentoring junior QA engineers or leading small QA teams/projects.
