We are looking for a skilled QA Test Engineer with 3 to 5 years of experience in software testing. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring application quality through effective test planning, test case preparation, execution, defect tracking, and regression testing. QA Engineers commonly work across functional, regression, integration, system, API, and automated testing activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Design, develop, and execute detailed test scenarios and test cases.
- Perform functional, integration, system, smoke, sanity, and regression testing.
- Identify, document, report, and track defects through closure.
- Perform API testing using tools such as Postman.
- Perform database/data validation using SQL where required.
- Work closely with developers, business analysts, and product teams to resolve defects.
- Perform retesting and regression testing after defect fixes.
- Maintain test cases, test reports, and other QA documentation.
- Participate in Agile/ Scrum ceremonies and contribute to continuous quality improvement.
Required Skills
- 3–5 years of hands-on software testing experience
- Strong knowledge of Manual Testing
- Good understanding of SDLC and STLC
- Experience in functional, regression, integration, and system testing
- Experience with defect-management tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps
- Hands-on experience with API testing, preferably Postman
- Good understanding of SQL and database validation
- Exposure to Automation Testing using Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar frameworks is preferred. Current QA role descriptions commonly include automation alongside manual testing.
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodology
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Java, Python, or JavaScript for test automation.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and version-control tools such as Git.
- Experience in performance testing using tools such as JMeter is an added advantage.
- Ability to independently analyze defects and perform root-cause analysis.
